Myths about the ancient Egypt

Each civilization has their own conception in the creation of the world and some of them try to explain all the phenomena that they see by the power of gods. That is the case of the ancient Egypt who existed 5500 years before today. This empire believed that their life were between the hands of the mystic power of invisible presence. Each god had a particular function and his meaning in the big question of the existence, all of them have their own history and when we reunite all of them, we have the Egyptian mythology. Here are little myths to understand the conception of the world by the Egyptians.

First of all, the one who created the human for this civilization was Khnum, a human with a head of a ram or a bull. From their belief, this god started to create the hairs of the man. After that, he formed the skin and the members. He built the skull and gave specific characteristics to the face of each human to distinguish them. Khnum opened the eyes to allow the human to see the world of Ra, the supreme god of the Pantheon. He made the mouth to eat and the tongue to express their toughts. At the end, he gave the throat to permit the human to swallow. We can say that he was the father of life, because he made the most wonderful thing of this world.

Secondly, this is a little myth about the great god of the writing, Thot. If we believe the ancient texts, Thot would drop papyrus in the temples of the Egyptians and from this gift, the writing was born. From their belief, he would give the knowledge to the human and create the language.

To conclude, the Egyptians used a multitude of gods to explain every aspects of their life. They were the base of their religion, culture and the way that they lived. The power of this civilization was in their myths.
